How can i make dog clothes?

Hi everyone, i have a dog and i would like to make the clothes for him, not to sell or anything. I have great ideas but i have no idea where to start. What would i need? & if i wanted to make something with stripes how would i do that? I would like to know what i would need to do step by step.
every one is entitled to their opinion, but dont say im wrong because i want to dress him, im not abusing my dog, so respect my decision.

Get a pattern off Google. As for the fabric, just go to Hobby Lobby or Wal-mart and pick up a good striped pattern.

Dogs should not be wearing clothes. Your dog does not want to wear clothes and would be a lot more comfortable without them. Save the effort and make something for yourself.
